The first MCKK Board of Governors 1917

The change in the governance structure of Malay College was made in 1917, when the Headmaster had to report to a Board of Governors, comprising of all British Residents of the Federated Malay States (FMS), Representative of the four Rulers of FMS and the Director of Education FMS. The Chairman of the Board was the British Resident of Perak, Sir Reginald George Watson.

The Rulers representatives were:
