Rugby is the game that the College made a name for itself. When Mr. Ryan was transferred to the College in November 1955, he was rather surprised to find that the College did not play rugby, considering that the headmaster, Mr. Howell was Welsh as was Dr. Lewis of Anderson School. Rugby was introduced in the College in 1924, but it was shortly discontinued and then again continued for a year in 1947 after MCKK reopened after the WW2.
