Dato’ Paddy Abd Halim has been appointed as the new Customs Director General

Heartiest congratulations to Dato’ Paddy bin Abd Halim (C’77) on his appointment as the new Director General of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. We wish him every success in his new duties.

Dato’ Paddy has vast experience in the civil service, starting with his career as customs superintendent at the Perak Customs Department in 1983.

He also served in various branches and divisions of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (JKDM) and headquarters, before being appointed as director, Compliance Management Division, in 2011.

On July 15, 2016, he was promoted as assistant director general of Customs (Enforcement); and on July 1, 2017, he was given the responsibility of the post of deputy director general of Customs (GST).
