Kapten Ahmad Ridzwan appointed as Chairman of CAAM

Heartiest congratulations to Kapten Ahmad Ridzwan Mohd Salleh (C’66) on his appointment as the Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

He served various organisations and agencies including the Royal Air Force, Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (‘DCA’) then, Air Asia Berhad and the United Arab Emirates Civil Aviation Authority.

It was during his tenure in Air Force that he established the Squadron A4 Skyhawk at the Kuantan Air Base in 1985 and was given the responsibility to develop The Cadet School in TUDM Kinrara in 1987. After 25 years serving the Air Force, Kapten Ahmad Ridzwan moved to join the DCA in the field of Airworthiness and Flight Operations. It was during his time in DCA that he developed reference materials for “Flight Operations Surveillance Inspections” which is still used until this day.

He also developed few other notable materials namely ‘Flight Simulator Certification’ and ‘Flight Test Procedure’. In 2014, he was presented with an opportunity to serve the UAE CAA where he was mandated to transform the GCAA Air Operations Regulations into the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) format.
